If you chose mostly As, your theme is…

Las Vegas!

Viva Las Vegas, Baby! You don’t need to head to the desert (or be 21) to enjoy life as a high roller. Bring all the best parts of Vegas to your prom with faux poker tables, giant cardboard playing cards, and dice centrepieces. Feeling lucky? Team up with your prom committee and volunteers to recreate the iconic “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada” sign to use as a backdrop for photos. Make sure you run the theme by your principal, just in case.

If you chose mostly Bs, your theme is…

The Great Gatsby/Roaring ’20s!

Get inspired by one of the greatest books ever written and throw an epic prom that would make Jay Gatsby proud. Bring the roaring 1920s back to life with black and gold décor, and enough sequins to make Beyoncé jealous. Use an art deco-inspired font like Park Lane, Lobster 10 or Tall Deco for tickets and posters for a true Gatsby feel. Use DIY feather centrepieces to round out the décor.

If you chose mostly Cs, your theme is a…

Carnival!

Turn your venue into a super fun carnival complete with cotton candy, kitschy games and a brightly lit dance floor. Round up the artists in your graduating class and paint a giant Ferris wheel backdrop for photos or recreate a carnival midway at the entrance as guests walk in.

If you chose mostly Ds, your theme is a…

Neon Lights Party!

Light up your night with glow sticks and neon accessories galore. For décor, replace regular lights with black bulbs, sneak more glow sticks inside balloons before blowing up for glowing centrepieces, and DIY signs and backdrops with fluorescent or glow-in-the-dark designs on black paper and backgrounds. If you have the budget, a photo booth with ‘80s- and ‘90s-inspired accessories like ridiculous neon sunglasses, bracelets and headbands will help you to capture the night in all its neon glory.

If you chose mostly Es, your theme is…

Candyland!

Celebrate your prom with a theme that’s sweet as, well, candy. Recreate the iconic rainbow path from the board game you loved as a kid, set up a massive candy buffet with your favourite treats and cellophane bags for favours or create a giant gumball machine with balloon “gumballs” for photos. Have a DIY night and craft candy-inspired props to leave on each table for candid group pics and selfies.

If you chose mostly Fs, your theme is…

Moulin Rouge/Paris

Red, black and gold will be the colours of choice for this theme, inspired by the now-classic film of the same name. Heavy velvet fabric or tablecloths in the theme’s colours are an easy way to jazz up tables. Rally artistic friends and recreate Moulin Rouge’s iconc windmill, complete with twinkling lights. Have feather boas on hand for creative photo props or fill square glass vases with feathers and lights for unique table decor.

If you chose mostly Gs, your theme is a…

Hawaiian Luau!

Bring the tropics to your school with this island-inspired theme. Adorn your venue with palm trees, paper lanterns, strands of tissue paper flowers and tiki torches (lit with LEDs rather than actual flame). Don’t forget the leis, grass skirts and coconut shell cups. Ask the DJ to play classic Hawaiian tracks during dinner and then switch up the playlist to current hits for a killer dance party.
